Eddie Izzard joins Tom Cruise and the ‘Valkyrie’ cast

Things are coming along quite nicely for the Tom Cruise starring world war two story ‘Valkyrie’ with cross dressing crackpot, Eddie Izzard being the latest to add his name to some decent home grown talent.

Kenneth Branagh, Stephen Fry, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson and 'Black Book' star Carice van Houten are also set to appear.

The plot centres on the true story of a number of high ranking German generals who planned to assassinate Hitler and bring the second world war to an early close.

‘Usual Suspects’ director, Bryan Singer is the man at the helm.

There’s some great faces in this already, and the story is interesting. I’m also looking forward to seeing what kind of performance Izzard will turn in.
