Wax on wax off - ‘The Karate Kid’ Remake on the way?!

Yes! Some big brain in Hollywood has now got the genius idea of remaking a highlight of the 80s, where thousands of kids would wash their Dad’s car and call it ‘training’, I’m talking of course about ‘The Karate Kid’.

The 23 year old film saw a young Ralph Macchio get a beat down from some bullies, get trained by the wise old Mr Myagi and then fend them off with his new found skills – which funnily enough later saw a young Hilary Swank do the same in the fourth film ‘The Next Karate Kid’.

The film is to be produced by Will Smith’s Overbook Entertainment and Jerry Weintraub who also produced the original 1984 film, but here’s the really juicy bit of info – word is that the new fist throwing youth will be played by none other then Smith’s son and ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ star, Jaden Smith. The young lad will have to wait a while though, for one the film is a long way off, and he is after all only nine years old.
